New Autumn/Winter Polished UV Gel Nails from Elegant Touch

Post number two today brings a new release from Elegant Touch. I showed you their House of Holland range a few weeks ago, and although these are completely different they are still bang on trend. Completely work-appropriate, glossy, foolproof press on nails inspired by the autumn winter catwalks. Elegant Touch sent me two out of the three available to try, Polished Nude and Polished Red.

In the pack you get 24 nails of different sizes, adhesive nail tabs, instructions and a little file. These really are foolproof as each nail comes with a little tab to help with positioning which snaps off once they're in place. No glue to stick your fingers together with either, you simply select the correct size tab (like a little sticky gel cushion), press it onto your clean dry nail, peel off the backing and then press the nail on top. Snap off the tab and gently file if there's any plastic burrs left. So quick and easy, in fact the bit that took the longest was selecting the right sized nails for my fingers - there's a good selection from teeny to fairly wide and they're all numbered on the tab. Five minutes after application they're set and Elegant Touch say they'll last up to a week without chipping, scratching or fading. I've not tested that theory, but they've lasted me through washing up after a Sunday roast and cleaning two very smelly guinea pigs out without budging, which is pretty good going!

These are Elegant Touch's 'short' length, and aren't much longer than my natural nails (in fact, I had to file down my middle finger a little!) but I love how even they look. Personally, I wouldn't see these as an everyday-wear item, but they'd be great for a night out, an important work meeting or even an interview and great to grab in an emergency. Or, if you feel like getting a little creative you could customise them, like I have with the red set I was sent! I'll show you that on Wednesday, I'm really pleased with how well they turned out, and they were really easy too.

Elegant Touch Polished UV Gel Nails are available for £6.59 in stores now!

House of Holland Nails for Elegant Touch

Hello loves, a review for you today :)

Press-on nails have come a long way since I last used them! When I was a teenager (far too long ago!) I used to wear badly fitting false nails all the time, and customise them with my own nail art. Thinking back (thank goodness this was pre-interwebs and camera phones - way back in the dark ages otherwise known as the 90s) they probably looked pretty horrific! Not any more though, as lots of companies are making nail tips already glammed up with trendy nail art, and they're much better than they were back in the day!

I was contacted recently by Elegant Touch who have collaborated with Henry Holland at House of Holland to create nine super hot nail designs. Each kit includes 24 nails in 10 different sizes, a nail file, nail glue and instructions. I was sent three designs in Heartbreaker, Zig Zag Starburst and Get Nailed, and I had such fun playing with them! Even the packaging looks swish, each set in it's own little 'house'.

First up, is Heartbreaker. These are a long stiletto style, too long for me for everyday (I don't know how you long-taloned ladies get anything done!) but I would definitely enjoy wearing them on a night out. This design is so classy, very Lana Del Rey (I want to be her) and bang on trend.

The next two sets are a more manageable length in an almond shape - something I've been wanting to try. Get Nailed consists of a set of plain white nails with a black frame, and black letter stickers to customise them with. So cute! I really liked them plain but once I added the stickers I fell in love! I used tweezers to peel off and apply the stickers, and they weren't tricky at all. Think of all the hashtags... #YOLO

The final set I was sent, Zig Zag Stardust, consists of 6 eye-searingly bright designs that apparently glow under UV light! They are seriously crazy bright without it though! These ones have an on-trend matte finish, but I don't see why you couldn't topcoat them if you like things shiny.

House of Holland Nails by Elegant Touch will be available this month and will be priced £7-£8.99. I think it's a fab range, and £7.99 for designer nails? Yes please! Plus, they were so easy to use, the sizes were fine for my fairly narrow nails and I didn't get glue everywhere! Go me! I don't often wear press-on nails any more, but I  will definitely be reaching for these the next time I have a night out. Do any of them tickle your fancy?
