Hi!
Sorry I've not posted for a few days, technology has not been on my side! For this week's Golden Oldie Thursday we could do what the hell we wanted, so I did! Actually the base was a brand spanking new Barry M Summer Ltd Edition from Boots called Bikini, a lovely perriwinkle blue, my "oldies" were the stamping polishes and the glitter. I stamped peacock feathers (I rather like peacock feathers, in case you didn't know!) using Color Club Perfect Mol-ten, Cold Metal and Hot Like Lava from the Foiled collection, and the glitter gradient tips were done with Icing Lemme See Your Peacock. The stamping plate was MoYou Pro 03, and Nails Craze NC01 on the thumb. Loved this mani, perfectly me.
I'm currently sporting a gel polish pedi, but when it comes off I think something similar to this will be replacing it! It'll match my tattoo nicely ;)

GOT Polish? Red!
Hi!
What a bad blogger I am! I promised you this post yesterday but I'm a day late again - at least it's only a day this time and not a week! I'm doing a part-time job three mornings a week (only temporary at the moment) and it's knocked me out of whack a bit. I will try to be better I promise! Anyway, this week's Golden Oldie Thursday is bought to you by the colour red, and I decided to be brave and try out a Robin Moses design. If you haven't heard of Robin Moses, google her, youtube her, stalk her on Instagram because she is awesome! I also cracked out the acrylic paint which I bought years ago, tried once and then threw into the nail art drawers when I couldn't get them to work to fester ever since. Impatient, moi? Anyway, I think I will need more practice since my lines were a little thick (and a thinner brush, maybe) but not too bad for a first (ok, second) go. The polishes I used were Nails Inc King Edward Street and China Glaze Fairy Dust in the negative spaces, along with black acrylic paint.
You can see the Robin Moses original here. I don't think she has anything to worry about...

GOT Polish? Silver accent!
Hi!
This is actually last week's Golden Oldie offering, I'm a bad bad blogger! But hopefully I'll get this week's up a little later so you get two for your money! Last weeks theme was silver accent, and I went for a mini ombre with a dotty silver accent, inspired by Of Life and Lacquer (go follow her!). The pinks were OPI Pink Friday and Elephantastic Pink, and Models Own Raspberry Crush, and the dots were done over Barry M Silver Foil.
Now, fingers crossed I get this weeks Golden Oldie up in time...

GOT Polish? Lilac!
Hi!
Guess who forgot to post their GOT polish mani yesterday? *Raises hand* So here it is, a wee bit late! I hope it was worth the wait, because I used an absolutely stunning polish here. Emily de Molly Simplicity is a lilac cream prolish stuffed with white matte glitters that just float perfectly in the crelly base. There's no fishing for glitters, no dragging, perfect opacity in two coats and it's smooth as glass just with one coat of topcoat (Poshe is my go-to). I teamed it with another Australian polish, but this time what I believe is a drugstore brand, Face of Australia Castle on a Cloud is a beautiful pale lilac with pretty shimmer. Another great two coater, and I topped it with some bubbly stamping to match the glitter in Simplicity and for a dreamy feel.
Worth the wait? I'm an idiot sometimes!

GOT Polish? Blingggg!
Hi!
This week's GOT polish theme is bling! Now, I can bling it up as much as the next glitter addict, but I went for a bit of subtlety. Just a bit mind. I used Rimmel Turquoise Sky as the base, with Maybelline Knitted Gold and Sinful Colors Paris on the accent nail. I stamped two nails with Cheeky XL C and Barry M Gold Foil, and then finished with some small square studs from Born Pretty Store.
I actually really love this, and might try something similar when my toes need changing in a few days...I've only ever stamped my toes once and it was a disaster, so maybe this time it'll make it to the blog! I've not posted my toesies in a while...

GOT Polish? Texture!
Hi!
Another one from before the break today, and in fact it was before the mini-break that lead me to shorten my nails a little a few weeks ago. I had intended to do some nail art on top, but the tip of my middle finger broke off before I had a chance, so for the first time ever it's a no-nail-art GOT polish from me! The polish is Sally Hansen Sugar Coat in Sour Apple - my love for this kind of green is never ending!
Short and (hopefully) sweet today, lots of little things seem to be conspiring against me at the moment and I'm in a bad mood! Plus my cat has been missing since Monday and I'm really worrying about him. I'm sure he's got stuck in someone's shed or garage somewhere, he's that dopey but he knows which side his bread's buttered and he's always usually home for dinner. Here's hoping he finds his way home soon :(

GOT polish? Neon!
Hi!
I've had a bit of an unintentional blogging break for a few days, but I'm back with this weeks golden oldie for you, and the prompt was neon. I've been loving a bit of neon lately but for these nails I went for pure trash and I love it! My neon was a mini Orly in Hottie - a bright pink that looks slightly coral toned. I think it would have been brighter if I'd used white undies but I knew I'd never get it even with the chevron French tips, and that the overlay of fierce animal print would hide any visible nail line - this was three coats and the VNL was a plenty! I accented it with zebra stripes and leopard print (with glitter - China Glaze Glistening Snow - because it just needed to be more in your face...) I think this is possibly one of the loudest manis I've ever done! And I'm helping out at my sons school today...perhaps I should have changed it! I had to shorten my nails a little because of a break and I thought it was the perfect time to try the chevron tips. They're not 100% but I really like the shape.
What do you think? Tacky or timeless? I think I know the answer...

GOT polish? Flowers!
After yesterday's Pink Wednesday, I decided to go with pink again for today's GOT polish theme which was floral. This was actually my second attempt after an epic fail the first time, so I went relatively simple. My base is Lilypad Laquer Bubble Yummo, a sweet hot pink holo, topped with some stamped flowers from MoYou Pro XL 10 in Color Club Revvvolution. I like the doodle-y look of how the flowers came out, but I feel like I've done a lot of floral manis lately, and this isn't my best. Boo.
Neon next week - I've been craving neons lately so I'm looking forward to it!

GOT Polish? Totally Tropical!
Hi!
Today's Golden Oldie theme was tropical, and I thought I'd try my hand at a little stamping decal again! My golden oldies were China Glaze Peachy Keen and Color Club Poptastic (should have used Flip Flop Fantasy really!) I also used Milani Gold Gems and Sinful Colors Paris for a little glitter gradient. Don't look too closely at the decal, it folded over at the edge and smeared a little bit. I will perfect them one day!
Fits the tropical bill, no? I loved the gradient despite the little decal accident! I really can't wait for summer, I can't stop cracking out the neons! My pedi is even neon in readyness for real flip flops!

GOT polish? Hot pink!
Hi!
Today's Golden Oldie Thursday is feeling hot hot hot! Actually, we have had some sunshine lately, so hot pink was appropriate. After bashing the Revlon polish I used for last week's golden oldie, I actually reached for Revlon again, this time it was a shimmery fuchsia by the name of Strawberry Electric. The last time I blogged about this polish in the good old days of a pink Wednesday I might have mentioned once or twice how much the name annoyed me. Strawberry Electric? It should be Electric Strawberry surely...? Anyway, name aside this polish was actually much better than last week's coral. I used two coats and then stamped with Pueen 68 and konad black. My stamping isn't the best, so I added some black rhinestones as a distraction. Shiny...
Hot hot hot indeed! Not my favourite polish, but a great golden oldie :)

GOT Polish? Coral!
Hi!
Today's Golden Oldie is one of my favourite colours, at least on my nails! I have a fair few coral polishes, from high end to drug store, neon to pastel. I chose a pretty polish with a troubled upbringing - I am never wowed by this brand unfortunately. Revlon Tropical Temptation is a really nice colour, but the formula leaves much to be desired - it's thin and watery, patchy and streaky, the brush is thin and stiff, I got nasty bubbles and it chipped within hours, which rarely happens to me anymore. I used three coats when it really could have done with another, but I used a fan brush to 'antique' it with some gold (Nails Inc Chelsea Bridge Road). I love how coral and gold goes together and originally had planned a skittle. Instead I stamped a lock and key on my ring finger, which sort of matched the antique theme.
Not wowed by this, but maybe it was the polish that put me off. Revlon are the higher priced end of the high street for me, but I think I got this one at a discount store. Good job really...

GOT polish? Ruffles!
Hi!
Today the Golden Oldie challenge prompt was ruffles. I didn't fancy a traditional ruffle mani, (where you use a dotting tool to create the ruffles, like I've done here) so instead I went for a lacy, ruffly stamping plate by Pueen. The base colour is Maybelline Color Show Red Grained, a matte finish polish with flakes of glitter which you can hardly see. I stamped with Konad white and left it without topcoat so to keep the matte effect.
The stamping's a bit messy, but I have the new Pueen Stamping Buffet plates to play with now (and a few new MoYous), so I hope to get my stamping mojo back!

GOT polish - purple!
Hi!
I've had the mani for the purple Golden Oldie Thursday prompt planned for what seems like months! I've had some purple nail art feathers knocking around in a my kit for ages, but never been brave enough to use them. I'm not gonna lie, they were faffy, and hard to apply, but the result is so pretty! My purple polish is China Glaze Creative Fantasy, a purple jelly with an odd but not unworkable formula. I used three coats of Creative Fantasy, and the nail line you can see here is not visible to the naked eye. The fathers are stuck on with lots and lots and lots of topcoat, on top of Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud. the edges are a little raised, and although they've lasted through washing dishes so far I don't think they'll last the day, more because they're catching on things than anything else!
Faffy? Yes. Worth it? Totally! Would I do it again? Probably not...
