Golden Oldie Thursday- GOT polish? Pink Nimbus

Well, yes, yes I have got polish. Almost 900 at time of writing! And the worst part is, most of them have only been used once (if at all!) So, over at Crumpet's Nail Tarts we developed a challenge to dig out some of those unloved polishes and put them to use! The rules are that they must have been used at least once, and be at least a year old (or your oldest polish if you've not been an addict a collector that long!) This will run weekly and the first theme was pink! I used a grand total of 6 pinks in this mani, all of which I've owned for a year or more. I started with three coats of Revlon Starry Pink (which was a birthday gift two years ago and has been used once since!) and then created a pink Nailasaurus Nimbus using OPI Steady As She Rose, Pink Friday, and Elephantastic Pink, China Glaze Dance Baby and Orly Preamp.

I'm really looking forward to this challenge, as well as Tri Polish Tuesdays! Lots of fun to be had at Crumpet's Nail Tarts if you want to join in!

33 Day Challenge day 33!!! Freestylin'!

Hello!

Well, I made it! I am chuffed I completed the challenge on time, posted every day and even got a few good manicures in there! Go me!

Our final challenge was either a recreation of someone else's mani , or to go freestyle so I combined a bit of both with some #33DC skittles. I started with a base of China Glaze Electric Beat on all my nails (leaving a half moon on the middle finger). A simple glitter gradient on my pinkie, with Barry M Silver Glitter and Dollish Polish I Triple Dog Dare Ya! and a thin coat of OPI Silver Shatter on my thumb framed my recreations on the ring, middle and index fingers. The ring finger sports a Nailasaurus waterfall, as seen in the challenge by Brandy's Nailtastic Blog, Fingerfood, and Glam-madam. The polishes used were China Glaze First Mate, and Blue Years Eve, Models Own Feeling Blue and Rimmel Your Majesty. The middle finger was inspired by Sarah at Penny Pinching Polish - a half moon with added leopard print, because why the hell not. This one used Blue Years Eve and Your Majesty. And my index finger was another Nailasaurus design, as seen by Nailaddict, Ros and Brandy again (and I loved my original version so much, I wanted to do it again!) I used the same colours as I did for the waterfall, and I think the addition of a couple of shimmery polishes really adds depth.

So, that's it! Which of my 33 manis has been your favourite? My top 3 were the 3 colour gradient and pattern, Indian and new technique, with my South American Macaw coming in a close forth.

33 day challenge. Done.

33 Day Challenge day 19 - follow a tutorial!

Morning!

For today's challenge we had to follow a tutorial - something I'm not usually very good at! However, Sammy at The Nailasaurus recently made a tutorial for the new look she created called Nimbus Nail Art, so I gave it a go! You can see Sammy's tutorial here, and my attempt below. I added stamping because Sammy's stamping is so perfect and she's the one who introduced me to the delights of Bundle Monster! (And because I got a load of new plates and wanted to try them...)

My base colour was 2True Fast Dry Colour Quick Shade 14, a very pale lilac, and the halo's were done with Nails inc Belgrave Place, Color Club Pucci-Licious, and Barry M Prickly Pear. Stamping was BM410 in Konad White.

I liked it and it's definitely something I'll do again. It makes a great base for stamping! Sammy's of course looks way better than mine but I'll take it! And I'll bet I'm not the only 33dc'er to try this today!
