Pink Wednesday! 10 years of being fetch!
As I said yesterday, Mean Girls is 10 years old today! Although it makes me feel terribly old, what better way to celebrate than with a special Pink Wednesday! My pink is Crabtree & Evelyn Peony accented by Funky Fingers Sand and Stilettos for a bit of sparkle. I then stamped some chevrons in Color Club Cloud Nine. Fetch, right?
It's been a while since I did a Pink Wednesday and it's been fun! Are you going to join in? You go Glen Coco!

On Wednesdays we wear PINK! Mean Girls 10th anniversary!
When I first started blogging, the first ever "challenge" as such that I used to take part in was Pink Wednesdays - pink nails and you get to sit with the popular girls! I haven't done it in a while, but since tomorrow sees the 10th anniversary of the film, and it's a Wednesday I thought it would be the perfect time to bring it back! I'm posting this now to hopefully get some others involved, so if you can get a pink mani ready for tomorrow, please join in! There is a link to the inlinkz code to add your link to tomorrow below (I know it's short notice so it will be open for a week), so come and sit with the plastics!

Pink Wednesday NOTD - Pink and floral
I got busted while wearing this mani, I took the pictures at work (I occasionally run a playgroup when my friend who owns it needs someone to cover) and then posted one to my personal Facebook before I'd cropped out the background, and of course the person who I cover for saw it! She's a good friend though, and was only joking when she told me off haha! I had to take the opportunity to snap the pic when I could!
I haven't taken part in a Pink Wednesday for the longest time, so hooray for Pink Wednesday! Are you sitting with the plastics today?

Purple Crumpet Spring Challenge - Day 2, Spring Pink
Day two of the challenge and I have my spring pink to show you. Most of my pinks seem to be brights, not pastels (must rectify) so I modified an old favourite. I used 3 coats of Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream and topped it with a Sally Hansen Diamond Strength polish I picked up in Poundland. They seem to be popping up more and more, so keep your eyes peeled! This one is called Love in Bloom and it's a sheer pink with teeny tiny flakies. Definitely a layering polish. Pics don't do it justice, especially with no sun.

Yesterday's Pink Wednesday for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
It's a colour I've used before but if I remember tightly, I only blogged about it once I'd shattered all over it, so here is a clearer picture. I used 2 coats of MeMeMe's Playful and then drew on little hearts near the cuticle with my dotting tool and Collection 2000 French White. Simple but pretty, although I have to admit the hearts on my right hand looked like a 4 year old did them and were 3 times the size of the left hand ones, so I covered them over again and just had dots on that hand.
The colour is leaning a bit old lady, it needs to be a teeny bit lighter I think, but it is still a soft and pretty creme, great formula, easy application - I used 2 coats but could have gotten away with one. Unfortunately I wrecked it by going swimming but that just lead to the awesomesauce I'm wearing now and will show you tomorrow!
Happy (late) Pink Wednesday! If you stand on your tiptoes you can almost see the weekend :)

Pink Wednesday - I have really bad breath in the morning...
Then because glitter looks all pretty mattefied, I mattefied it.
Think I preferred it shiny, it looks a bit chalky with the matte top coat. But I still love it. Sometimes the simple ideas are the ones you like the most :)

Yesterdays Pink Wednesday - So Fetch!
Helloo! I've not done a pink Wednesday for a few weeks but since I have a fair few (8 ahem) untried pinks I thought I'd join in again. This is No7 Milan, a nice pink foil. 2 coats, then stamped with concentric circles from BM 206 with MissSporty New Black. Stamping went a bit blurry but considering I did it at 6.30 this morning it wasn't bad.
I do like these No7 polishes, with the Boots vouchers I now have 4 (and have my eyes on another) but one thing I'm not keen on is the brush. The brush itself is nice, one of the wider flat ones, but they feel like they're not attached to the lid of the bottle properly, so they bend a bit when you apply the polish. I thought I just got a bad bottle with my first one but they're all like it. Annoying.
Counting down the days until I get my computer back-should be no more than 7...

Pink Wednesday - I know, right? (O.P.I I Lily Love You funky french)
Teehee, sorry. Anywho, for Pink Wednesday this week I wanted to use I Lily Love You again, so I created a funky french manicure using MUA Shade 16 for the tips and accent nails. Shade 16 is a really pretty deep fuschia and has a great formula - I LOVE these products. I haven't found one yet that I don't love - they eyeshadows in the MUA range (regular and Pro) are exceptional, and I really want to try their new primer. Anyway, I digress. After my base coat I used tip guides to create a french tip using the pink polish on all but my ring finger and thumb on which I painted the whole nail, then once they were dry I added 2 coats of I Lily Love You.
It softened the whole look down and gave the flakies in ILLY a kind of ethereal quality. Prettyful. If I were to do this again I think I'd do the tips over ILLY instead of under so that they were more prominent. And maybe wear a nude polish under the whole lot - I'm not used to seeing "real" nail under my polish anymore!
Are you sitting with the plastics this week?

Pink Wednesday - Check out her Mom's boob job! They're hard as rocks!
I recently went on a search for a dusty pink polish, something in the same genre as Sparrow Me The Drama from the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean collection. It seems that UK polish brands don't do dusty (apart from Beauty UK Smokey Lilac - can you please do a pink version!), but I found Playful from MeMeMe which is pretty similar, perhaps a little darker. Sorry about the badly lit swatch...
This polish was a dream to apply thanks to the super wide brush. I think my nails are pretty average in width, so someone with slimmer nail beds would struggle but for me it means perfect coverage in one stroke on most nails. I did 2 coats but if you're clevererererer you'd get away with one.
Then, because OPI bought out their Silver Shatter with the Pirates collection, and because all the cool kidz are doing it I added a coat of MUA's silver Nail Quake, Shattered Ice. I believe the OPI Silver Shatter has sparkly bits in while this is matte and sort of like brushed chrome, so it isn't a dupe at all, but it's all I have! I was going to pit some silver glitter over it too but can ypu believe I don't have a silver glitter? How did that slip by unnoticed? Anyway, I added something else instead eventually, but I'll show you that tomorrow...
So that's me for another pink Wednesday. Don't forget to check out the other pink ladies at http://onwednesdayswewearpink.com/ and you can now follow us on twitter @pinkwednesday

Nautical Pink Wednesday - I can stick my whole fist in my mouth! Wanna see?
The mani I'm wearing for Pink Wednesday this week is actually one I did on Monday evening for the facebook group I joined, Polish Aholics Anonymous. Every Monday they have a theme and this week it was Tape. As I don't have the time or patience to do a full stripy tape mani, I am rocking a trusy accent nail. The pink is Barry M Strawberry Ice cream, the cream is Stargazer 508 and I stamped an anchor (again) using Wet and Wild Denim Chrome. I think it gives a kind of muted, vintage pin-up nautical effect...but maybe that's just me.
Think it would have looked better if the pink were slightly "dustier" as such, more like OPI Steady As She Rose. But I don't have any dustier pinks - can anyone recommend any?
Hx
Oh, by the way, I've found a full sized bottle of OPI I Lily Love You for £4.99 + 50p postage. Now the next cheapest I've found it for is £8.99 plus about £1.70 postage. Would you say it's a fake/scam? I'm really lusting after it, but don't want to be ripped off.

Pink Wednesday - One time, she punched me in the face, it was awesome
That's it for today! Nothing really to say about this apart from I wasn't really keen on it so it didn't last long! Love the base colour...if only I could remember what it was...
I'll leave you with a pic of the mini Nail Envy I bought. I thought I'd try a mini before committing to a full size bottle and when I came in the post I literally went "aaaww" when I opened up the package! I'm a sad sap I know...

Pink Wednesday - Strawberry nails!
I am a bit sad because last week I missed pink Wednesday for the first time since I started blogging! I still wore pink last Wednesday but because of my puter issues I didn't get to post it. I'll save it to show you another time maybe...I didn't like it much anyway...
This week I LOVE my pink Wednesday manicure! Maybe it's because it'snot actually all that pink...but the accent nail is so it still counts. I hope you're ready for a LOT of stamping posts from me - I finally got the first set of Bundle Monster plates! I love them so much and I already want the second set :) The first mani I did was with some of the star patterns (which I'll show you tomorrow) but then as soon as I took that off I went for the strawberries! The beautiful Grace from Oooooh Pretty inspired me with her version, but I kept it to just an accent nail and did a few things differently.
The red I used for the stamping and the majority of nails is Miss Sporty Red Tango, which is quite a vampy red that stamps really well and is opaque in 2 coats. On the ring finger and thumb I used 3ish coats of Essie Luscious Lips (are all Essie brushes really stiff and thin? And are all the polishes rather runny? I know I'm cack handed but even with thin coats it pooled terribly) and stamped the strawberry from BM05 randomly.

Pink...Friday?

Late Pink Wednesday - Get in loser, we're going shopping.
For Pink Wednesday this week I tried out 17 Lasting Fix Pink Grapefruit, which I got as a freebie :) It's a jelly-ish creme, with VNL at 3 coats. First I tried to stamp over it, which didn't work. So I added another coat and went for this uber tacky leopard print :) Can't get much more tack then hot pink and gold leopard print :) The gold is Miss Sporty Gold Backstage and the grey outlines are Miss Sporty New Black
Super easy to do - blob on some blobs with a dotting tool and then outline roughly with a smaller dotting tool. Simples.
I'll take it off tonight and think I'll go for a palette cleanser for a few days. This one gives me headaches just thinking about it.

Cold, shiny, hard plastic...
Just a quick post today because I'm in a foul mood and I don't want to neg everyone out, so less talk more pictures.
I used 2 coats of Stargazer number 508 (I hate it when brands don't name their polishes) which was a pig to apply and after 2 coats I quite frankly had enough, even though it needed more. It's a pretty colour though, sort of a milky-cream-pale yellow with shimmer. Are all Stargazer polishes like this? I'm hoping not. Then I crackled it with MUA's Nail Quake in Shock Waves and topped with Seche.
Then this morning I added a coat of Collection 2000 Nail Care Shimmer Top Coat, which I'd hoped was a dupe for China Glaze White Cap. I think with maybe a few more coats it might be comparable, but I liked it at one coat so left it at that.
Hope you like it! I've made it through 2 days with very little chipping and a teeny bit of tip wear which is a miracle for me. Even so I'm in need of some nail therapy so will probably change my nails tonight. Hopefully I'll be in a better mood tomorrow too...

That's why her hair's so big, it's full of secrets!
Sorry this post is a bit late, I hung on as long as I could to try and get a good sunlight picture of this mani, but everytime the sun poked it's head out for a nano second, despite me running into the garden like a nutter, I failed to capture it. Someone please remind he weather man that IT'S JUNE. Ahem...
So the reason I so badly wanted the sunlight for this mani is because it's a holo effort! I used Avon Nailwear Pro in Romance (2 coats) with Marks and Spencer Rainbow tips, and switched it around on the accent finger. I used Seche Vite before and after adding the tips. If you want a holo polish but can't afford ridiculous ebay prices for GOSH Holographic then Rainbow may be a good alternative. I don't know if its a dupe, I suspect the holo in the M&S polish is a little weaker, but it's easily available (I had no trouble finding it and you can order online) and although it's £7.50 that's a hell of a lot cheaper than the GOSH.
Sorry for the pictures :( I've worn it a day now and just have a little tipwear so if it's sunny in the morning I'll take some more.
