Jacava London Passion Swatch and Review

Hello!

Today I have another swatch and review for you. You may have seen the new brand Jacava London floating around blogville, and they sent me a lovely email (flattery will get you everywhere!) offering me the chance to try one. Of course I jumped at the chance and they sent me a bottle of Passion, a deep berry toned creme that is perfect for Autumn. I feel like I'm saying that a lot lately, but I really can't stop reaching for these berry tones! They also sent a bottle of their UV inhibiting top-coat. Onto the swatches! The pictures show 2 coats of colour, plus one of topcoat.

The formula is lovely, two easy coats give the coverage you see here, and dry time is good. You can see that it's shiny, and even without the topcoat it had a lovely glossy sheen. The brush on the colour polish is very thin, which is good for precision but I would prefer it a little ticker. However it's not an issue once you get used to it and the long elegant handle on the bottle definitely helps. Curiously the brush on the topcoat was a little wider, whether this is intentional or not I'm not sure. Another feature of the brush is that it reaches right to the bottom of the bottle, meaning in theory you can use every last drop.

The bottles definitely have a luxury feel and the writing is even printed in 22 carat gold! Very swish! Jacava's main selling point is they they're "8 Free", meaning that they're free of Formaldehyde, Camphor, Toluene, DBP, Cellophane, Phthalates, Parabens and animal ingredients meaning they're vegan-friendly, and are never tested on animals. Did you even know all those nasties were in polish? I didn't! I can't say it's a huge selling point for me (I try to buy 3 free, but it's not a major concern of mine) but if it is something you're worried about this is a great brand for you. And best of all, they're a 100% British brand! Based in London and made in the UK.

Jacava London is available from Feel Unique and Amazon.co.uk with an RRP of £14.50. Expensive, yes, but a lot of work has gone into it to make it a great product, and you wont find an 8 free polish anywhere else.
