GOT Polish? Yellow!

Hi!

This week's Golden Oldie Thursday is bought to you by the colour yellow! Yellow is probably the colour I own the least of, so none of them are particularly neglected, so I just chose a favourite. This is Models Own Lemon Meringue, which is just a great all round pastel yellow. It's opaque in two coats, good as a base for nail art, it watermarbles perfectly and look how tanned it makes my fingers look! Every little helps ;) I stamped a floral pattern from Pueen 72 in Barry M Gold Foil for a springtime look!

I then added some caviar pearls to the centre of the flowers, and I really like it! They've stayed on really well, through dishes and showering, and I can't stop rubbing them! Does that sound a little bit wrong? Ok, moving on...

I'm not usually a yellow fan, but these I loved. I thought they wouldn't last the day but I kind of don't want to take them off!

33 Day Challenge Day 11 - 3D

Morning

Firstly, I just have to say a few things have happened over the last week or so that are making it difficult for me in general at the moment. So please excuse me if I miss a few days or end up posting late for a while. I'm going to desperately try not to drop out of the challenge completely but I can't promise that either :(

Anyway, onto today's challenge which was to create a 3D manicure. It's well documented that I love a nautical mani, and I've never customised a set of false tips before so I combined the two and came up with this. I used a set of Elegant Touch Polished UV Gel Nails, which I blogged about here in Polished Red as the base, and customised them with caviar beads, rhinestones and a striper to create these simple 3D talons! Top tip - use a waxy eyeliner pencil to pick up your caviar beads - so much easier than messing around with tweezers or a toothpick dipped in topcoat!

Untried Month - getting my fish egg on!

Hi loves!

Today I'm wearing Accessorize Stardom - a yummy metallic grey, not too brushstrokey in two medium coats. Then I decided to try my new caviar beads - that have been setting blogdom on fire lately, and not for all the right reasons. My lovely friend Tracy got me these from Chez Delaney and I applied them as an accent nail just by sticking them into wet top coat. I didn't top coat over them because I wanted the texture.

 They lasted approximately half an hour before this happened-

Mr NN literally just touched them and they all fell off. It was like the top coat was too brittle? Maybe I'll try gluing them on next time...
