NOTD - MeMeMe Pin-Up + Elf Dark Navy Funky French

Another two polishes ticked off the list! I wore this one a few days ago. The MeMeMe polish is one of their old ones that I picked up in Savers a while ago - it's in the old style bottle but the brush was still good - not like their new mega-huge perfect-nail-in-one-swipe brushes, but still good. I don't wear red often but I have no idea why as I like it on my nails. 2 coats and it was super shiny so silly me didn't use topcoat (I'm dangerously low and don't want to buy any) and there was major tipwear at the end of day one, so I covered it with thin french tips in ELF Dark Navy and eeked it out for another day. Both polishes are definitely keepers.

ooh...shiny...

I don't know how many reds I have in my collection, but it's not as many as the pinks or purples. Are there any you'd recommend? I have been swatching on nail wheels and reds are next on my list to do, so I'll show you that soon.

In other news, I've broken my no-buy. Well sort of. My other half got a fantastic new job yesterday, and today I reached a milestone with my weight loss (I've now lost 10% of my starting weight!) so he treated me to two new polishes. Collection 2000 Hot Looks polishes are two for £1.99 in Superdrug at the moment and he treated me to Milkshake and All That Jazz. I've been craving a nude but don't have any in my untrieds so I'll wear Milkshake soon!

NOTD - Nautical Nails!

Hello everyone!

Today I have more stamping to show you :) Don't worry, tomorrows post wont be another Bundle Monster manicure I promise! For this manicure I used Barry M Blueberry Icecream for the base, Miss Sporty Electric Beige for the stamping on thumb and ringfingers and sponged W7 Gold Dazzle and ELF Golden Goddess on the base of the accent nails and tips of the rest. Topped with Seche, that's a lot of polish! The image plates I used were BM08 for the anchor and BM 12 for the chain.

It's not perfect - I would have been better to use gold for the stamping, I made a mess of my cuticles (sorry Grace!) and there's glittah everywhere but I love it all the same. I wanted a paler background and bought Barry M Blue Moon today, so maybe I'll try it again someday :) It lasted 2 days with only minor tip wear, but I've changed it tonight none the less. S there'll be a new mani tomorrow mall haul post coming up over the weekend hopefully.

Feeling tonal

*WARNING* Foot Picture Below *WARNING*

Todays post is a little different than usual. I can't remember if I blogged or just tweeted about it, but I won a Beauty UK competition on Facebook for 3 of their new pearl eyeliners! I seriously never win anything, the last time I won a competition was whan I was about 6 and I won a My Little Pony. For this comp you had to tell them what your festival beauty tips were, and I said something about dark nail varnish so you can't tell if your fingernails are grubby. Yukky, but needs must. Anyway, my new eyeliners came this morning and I couldn't wait to try them.

I got a silver, gold and metallic purple liquid eyeliner, and since I was already dressed and wearing a peachy coloured top with pinky-corally flowers on, I chose the gold as I thought it would go best. I tried to take a picture of the top but it just made me realise how ginourmous and out of proportion my bewbz are, so you wont be seeing it. Anyhoo, moving on...

Here's the eyeliner, over a sheer MUA eyeshadow that I also use as highlighter. The mascara I'm using is Collection 2000 Big Fake False Lash Effect, and I love it. It gives good length and volume without those annoying fibres that irritate my eyes.
Yes I have wrinkles and bags under my eyes. I'm old and I have 2 young kids.

Then onto the nails. I added 2 coats of ELF Golden Goddess on top of yesterdays gold crackle and pink. Golden Goddess is a clear base with tiny gold glitter and hex golden holo glitter.

Matched my bracelets in gold and corally-orange.

And then I ruined it all by painting my toenails in Barry M Dusky Mauve haha!

Have a nice day!

Playing with watermarbling...

I haven't posted a nail post in a few days because I had a major fail the other night and my nails have been a mess. I painted my nails with Barry M Indigo in preparation to try the silver Miss Sporty polish I got with stamping (more on that later) but then the baby woke up and had a screaming fit for an hour so the polish got dented and wrinkled and went yukky. I managed to salvage it good enough to stamp over the next day, but then the stamping failed. The Miss Sporty silver isn't as good as the other Miss Sporty polishes for stamping, it's too sheer. So I used the metallic lilac colour I have from their Clubbing Colours collection, which stamps really well, but because I'd already failed with the silver it turned into a big mess. So now I have naked nails until this evening when I'll do my pink Wednesday mani for tomorrow.

So, in the meantime, I thought I'd show you a relative success I had with watermarbling! I was just playing around and trying a few colours, not doing a full mani, so in these pictures I haven't cleaned up. My other excuse is that I thought you might like to see the perfect, and hilarious, watermarbling effect I got on my fingers by dipping them too far!

Excuse the washing line in the background...
Colours used: Index China Glaze Agent Lavender, E.L.F Mod Mauve, O.P.I. Parlez ous O.P.I?; Middle O.P.I. Flower to Flower, Collection 2000 French White, Ring and Little Parlez ous O.P.I? and Agent Lavender

Considering what a huge fail I've had almost every other time I've tried this, I was impressed (doesn't take much...) I will do a full mani (or at least an accent finger) with a watermarble one day...

NOTD - Er, peachy nude Wednesday?

So I messed up. I thought this mani would come out more pink but it didn't. I guess I can't sit with you guys today...

3 coats of 17 Supreme Shine in Bared plus stamping from Born Pretty fauxnad M65 with E.L.F Mod Mauve (great for stamping btw), plus Seche Vite.

The rarely seen right hand...

My stamping non-skillz are getting better. Although I still can't get the flower pattern from M65 to stamp properly :( And I REALLY want to use it for the mani for the wedding I'm going to :(

One more thing, can anyone recommend a silver polish that's easily available in the UK and isn't too pricey that's good for stamping?
