Press-on nails have come a long way since I last used them! When I was a teenager (far too long ago!) I used to wear badly fitting false nails all the time, and customise them with my own nail art. Thinking back (thank goodness this was pre-interwebs and camera phones - way back in the dark ages otherwise known as the 90s) they probably looked pretty horrific! Not any more though, as lots of companies are making nail tips already glammed up with trendy nail art, and they're much better than they were back in the day!
I was contacted recently by Elegant Touch who have collaborated with Henry Holland at House of Holland to create nine super hot nail designs. Each kit includes 24 nails in 10 different sizes, a nail file, nail glue and instructions. I was sent three designs in Heartbreaker, Zig Zag Starburst and Get Nailed, and I had such fun playing with them! Even the packaging looks swish, each set in it's own little 'house'.
First up, is Heartbreaker. These are a long stiletto style, too long for me for everyday (I don't know how you long-taloned ladies get anything done!) but I would definitely enjoy wearing them on a night out. This design is so classy, very Lana Del Rey (I want to be her) and bang on trend.
The next two sets are a more manageable length in an almond shape - something I've been wanting to try. Get Nailed consists of a set of plain white nails with a black frame, and black letter stickers to customise them with. So cute! I really liked them plain but once I added the stickers I fell in love! I used tweezers to peel off and apply the stickers, and they weren't tricky at all. Think of all the hashtags... #YOLO
The final set I was sent, Zig Zag Stardust, consists of 6 eye-searingly bright designs that apparently glow under UV light! They are seriously crazy bright without it though! These ones have an on-trend matte finish, but I don't see why you couldn't topcoat them if you like things shiny.

they're pretty :)
ReplyDeleteOooh, these look awesome. Were they OK to get off? I've heard they can be a bit too sticky!
ReplyDeleteThey came with glue rather than stickers, so once the nail is off you either soak or buff the remainder of the glue off - as long as you don't pull the nail off too hard your real nails underneath shouldn't get damaged :) x
DeleteCute!!

ReplyDeletecould I use it more than one time?
could it be used more than one time?
ReplyDeleteHi Anas, yes I think if you took them off carefully you could use them a couple of times maybe. And you get 24 nails in each pack so you could get more than one use out of them that way if you could make them fit!x
DeleteHi. Beautiful nails! I read a few reviews of these nails on Boots.com and some people weren't happy with how long the nails had lasted, for some people the nails began to chip and crack a few hours after putting them on! What do you think? Are they worth buying?
ReplyDeleteHi Orla! I wore the fluro ones for a night out and took them off the next day with no chips or cracks, but I imagine they might suffer with everyday stuff like typing or housework. A coat of clear topcoat might help though!x
