'Cause she thinks she's made of candy...

Evening!

I've become somewhat of a lemming killer lately, thanks to Facebook polish sale groups! One of my latest quashed desired was Jindie Nails Candyland, a gorgeous white crelly stuffed with different sized neon hex glitters. Yum! I'm a sucker for white-based glitters anyway, and my unexpected love of neon is back for summer so of course this was a hit! I combined it with a neon pink accent nail and some stamped flip flops for an extra summery vibe!

Now it wasn't an easy polish to apply - it wasn't the worst I've had by a long shot, but it certainly took a bit of patience. 3 coats and then some dabbing got the effect you see here, and I had to fish around a bit for anything other than pink glitter. Those damn blue hexes! Worth it though? I think so :)

We actually had a couple of sunny days to accompany this mani, usually as soon as I put on something summer appropriate the weather has a good old LOL and the heavens open! Long may it continue as I've just put on a holo!

Killed any lemmings lately?

Gone to the dogs...

Evening!

No Sunday Stamping mani for me this week - the theme was french tips which I think would look ridiculous on my shorties, so I skipped it! Instead I have a mani to show you which I matched to a sparkly top for a night out. I do like being a bit matchy matchy for special occasions, and I will normally try to match my outfit with my make-up and nails if I can. It was a friends birthday, and we celebrated by going greyhound racing, getting drunk and then dancing the night away at a cheesy disco, perfect! The top I was wearing was navy blue with green sequins on the top half and matte black sequins on the bottom, so I painted my nails with two coats of Pretty & Polished Black Swan and added some green Born Pretty glequins to the ring finger.

I think it matched pretty well! Now, as for the night out it was brill, really needed. I had a few bets on the doggies, and think I more or less broke even. I also think I broke my toe! Ooops! Although I did manage to carry on dancing, in 3 inch heels! That'll be the vodka...

Do you ever match your nails to your outfit? Or even your outfit to your nails? I'd love to see!

In the pink...

Evening all!

I had a craving for some pink, so I had a rummage in my ever expanding untrieds and came up with OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips, a really pretty hot pink, perfect for summer. I teamed it with some gold glitter (Milani Gold Jewel FX, W7 Gold Dazzle and Nails Inc Glamour Glitter), and some stamping and this is the result!

Simple and pretty. Sometimes things just work :)

Adventures in Stamping - 70s Inspired

Evening! Happy Fathers Day to all the Daddies and Ma-thers out there! I've had a lovely day shopping with my family, and popping my Nando's cherry ;)

This weeks Adventures in Stamping challenge was to be inspired by the 70s, and there have been some fab designs, so if you're not already a member pop over and check us out! When I think of 70s patterns and prints I immediately think of orange and brown - such a lovely combo! I actually used orange, white and red - and I'm pretty sure my Grandad still has a similar pattern to this on the curtains in his back bedroom! The orange is Barry M Hi-Shine Gelly in Mango, and the red Blood Orange. I started with two coats of Mango, then stamped the swirly, dotty pattern from Bundle Monster 209 with Konad Special White, and then again with Blood Orange. I was pretty pleased with my lining up of the pattern for most parts, something I usually struggle with.

Unusual combo, and I only kept it on for a day, but I liked it! I'm enjoying stamping on my nubs, it's much easier ;)

Papaya Print

Morning!

I'm partial to a coral colour on the nail, especially in summer, and so because my nails are misbehaving and I got rather too snip happy with the clippers (leaving me with no free edge at all and sore fingertips) I cheered them up with a coral and gold simple stamping combo. The base is Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Papaya - smooth, easy, corally-salmon two coater, stamped with Barry M Gold Foil Effects and Konad S1. I treated myself to the stamping plate just for this design and I can see myself getting lots of use from the basket weave alone, so a good investment for my first genuine Konad purchase!

A little of what you fancy does you good...

Well would you look at that, 2 posts in two days you lucky sods!

Seriously, I seem to have misplaced my blogging mojo a tad. I just don't feel like my nails, designs or pictures are good enough to post. So when I manage to get a mani exactly how I want it, I post that shizzle straight away!

I felt like using mint and lilac for a bit of a skittle, although I've been trying to plough through my untrieds, I indulged myself came up with this. Essie Mojito Madness and Bikini So Teeny, Hare Polish Bisbee on the ring finger, a splash of gold stamping and I chucked some teardrop rhinestones on there for good measure. I love the depth of the Hare, seriously gorgeous. I'll definitely use the Essies again soon too, although it does seem a shame when I have so many untrieds and I've already worn these at least twice...maybe I need to buy more mints and lilacs...

Have you ever lost your mojo? How did you get it back?

Adventures in Stamping - Butterflies and Dragonflies

Hello!

Yes, I know it's Wednesday and I'm only just getting around to posting my Sunday Stamping mani, but better late than never, right? This weeks theme was butterflies and dragonflies, and since I've done flutterbies lots of time, I went for the dragons.

My base is Nails Inc Picadilly Circus, topped with two coats of Candeo Orchid. So pretty on it's own, but I then added gold dragonflies from a Salon Express plate with Barry M Gold Foil.

Something exciting happened to me while I was wearing this mani, hopefully I'll be able to share it with you in a week or two, and maybe even create a celebratory mani ;)

I apologise again for the lack of posts, I seem to be lacking a bit in inspiration. When I do my nails I'm so blah about them that I don't want to post them. At the moment I'm just wearing a plain orange creme! (But it's a beaut - I'm about to Instagram it) I'm sure I'll sort myself out soon!
